A PUBLIC INSTITUTION OF INTERMUNICIPAL COOPERATION

The SICTOM Pézenas-Agde is a public intercommunal cooperation establishment created in 1976 by the association of twelve towns (Alignan-du-Vent, Aumes, Castelnau-de Guers, Caux, Lézignan-la-Cèbe, Montagnac, Nézignan-l’Evêque, Pézenas, Pinet, Pomérols, Saint-Thibery et Servian) to deploy together the necessary means to collect and treat household waste.

Today, SICTOM comprises 58 municipalities and nearly 130,000 permanent residents, a figure that grows considerably during the summer period: up to 250,000 residents.

Over the years, the welcome of new municipalities, the constant increase of the population, the increasing interest of the population in environmental and sustainable development issues, successful collaborations (ADEME, Eco-Emballages, Conseil General) have enabled SICTOM to multiply its missions:

• collection and treatment of household and similar waste,
• selective collection and sorting of recyclable household packaging,
• management of a sorting center et des two transfer docks,
• management of 19 waste reception centres and the de four inert waste storage facilities,
• collection of glass, des textiles and points of voluntary deposits,
• Communication and prevention with the users.

HOW GO TO THE ADMINISTRATIVE HEADQUARTERS OF SICTOM?

The administrative headquarters of SICTOM is located in Nézignan-l’Evêque, 27 avenue de Pézenas. Ideally located in the heart of the territory, it is a few kilometers from Pézenas.
